JMIR Infodemiology Publishes First Papers

JMIR Infodemiology is the premier digital health journal focusing on infodemics

TORONTO, July 19, 2021: JMIR Infodemiology (infodemiology.jmir.org) is excited to announce the publication of its first three articles in the interdisciplinary study of Infodemiology. On Friday July 16th, 2021, the journal published three COVID-19 articles:

JMIR Infodemiology is the premier digital health journal on the science of infodemics.(an overabundance of information—some accurate and some not—that occurs during an epidemic). With the increase of false and misleading information entering the public sphere, the journal provides a home for ideas and rigorous methods to address these challenges, which have been brought to light by the COVID-19 epidemic and other research subject areas that are prone to misinformation.

“JMIR Publications has been publishing on the topic of infodemiology for many years; it was time to create a dedicated resource that would meet the growing and increasingly interdisciplinary needs and coordination that infodemic management will require,” says Gunther Eysenbach, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Editor at JMIR Publications.

The Editors-in-Chief of JMIR Infodemiology—Tim Mackey, MAS, PhD, and Cynthia Baur, PhD—along with the journal's world class editorial board continues to review submitted papers and looks forward to new submissions. Papers in JMIR Infodemiology can be submitted through infodemiology.jmir.org/author. For more information about the journal, visit infodemiology.jmir.org/.
